Balking at the influence of his debut, The Self-Evident Truth of an Intuitive Mind, TPower's Mark Royal takes the admirable route with his follow-up of forgetting everything he's known. While elements of drum'n'bass are in evidence on a number of tracks, Royal opts instead to dissolve jungle's sweeping, low-bass moans and skittery rhythms in a vat of paranoid, abstract electronics. The result is a far less predictable, ultimately more enjoyable collection of post-dance beatoriented electronica seamlessly blending ambient, jungle, electro (lots, in fact), and avant-garde-leaning electro-acoustic. Masterful.
