犹记2001年底,香港MCB音乐殖民地音乐双周刊将Black Rebel Motorcycle Club(以下简称B.R.M.C.)这队以洛杉矶为基地之三人乐团的处男大碟B.R.M.C.选 为全年最佳专辑第一名时,或许不少乐迷心中是有所存疑与保留的,毕竟当时这 张作品在英国尚未发表;然而事实证明,踏入2002年后B.R.M.C.成为NME音乐週 报力捧的年度新团,紧接着成功入侵英伦并创造三十万张的专辑销售佳绩,也顺 理成章成为2002年底各家音乐杂志的年度最佳专辑之选。
那麽究竟由Peter Hayes(主唱/吉他手)、Robert Turner(主唱/贝斯手)与Nick Jago所组成的B.R.M.C.有何过人之处?事实上,该团首张专辑之所以让一众乐评 与乐迷趋之若鹜,在于成功地吸纳了六十年代的Velvet Underground、八十年代 的Jesus & Mary Chain与Spaceman 3到九十年代My Bloody Valentine等经典乐 团的影响,进而建立起一种独树一帜的「黑色迷幻摇滚美学」,粗旷而低调,狂 烈而黑暗;从内敛张力十足的Love Burns到疾驰狂奔的What Happened To My Rock ’n’ Roll(Punk Song),首首作品都展现了该团傲视同侪的独特音乐性格。

Take Them On, On Your Own is the second album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It was released in 2003.
The album has a darker, harder rock sound than their debut album, and also contains more politically themed lyrics. The album reached #3 in the United Kingdom music charts despite receiving mixed reviews, and is almost universally credited as a lesser achievement than its predecessor B.R.M.C..
The album cover is a homage to the film The Third Man.
This album has been released with the Copy Control protection system in some regions.
