My rating is not 10 just cause it's a cover album, not own songs. If it were Arakain's compositions, the rating would be 100% with no doubt! This collection of hits is ready to kick anyone in the arse, especially the Central European fans!
Well, I always listen to "tributes" or "cover albums" with a huge dose of scepticism, and so I did this time. But man, the sound is awesome! The guitars are all the time easily audible, so are the drums. But no sweet sounds, it's still rough and rock! The musicians are highly skilled so as to play the old hits properly.
And the vocals - they're all in Czech. It doesn't sound weird, just very much original and gives the music some Slavonic taste. The voice is harmonic, no false tones, and matches the music well. What's cool, the same band can do really good thrashers, and they do their own work as well as this.
So this CD shows the world once again - no one can kill rock and roll. The songs that seem to some as "outdated" (haha, posers!) sound as lively and rocking as they did thirty years before. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep - they got no expiry dates signed on the covers.
