My Divider专辑介绍
Dinosaur Bones, that Toronto-based quintet that makes the girls weak in the knees and the boys jealous as all giddy-up, are finally ready to release their debut LP.
Titled My Divider (for reasons passing my immediate understanding), the LP will be put out by Toronto-based Dine Alone Records, home of artists like City and Colour, Arkells and Tokyo Police Club.
And might I say, now that that\'s been taken care of, damn, I\'ve been waiting a long time for this. DBones\' four-song EP Birthright was a staple of my listening a few years ago and I\'ve hit DBones shows every time I\'ve had a chance. Their \"broody indie rock for real people\" descriptor (ahem, self-given descriptor -- peep their Twitter) gets better every time. As such, I wanted to see, er, hear what the new stuff sounded like and huzzah, now I have a chance.
If you haven\'t heard Birthright, get on that, son. It\'s some good sauce. So good that one writer said that it was \"[an album] packed with feeling ... whose delicate darkness almost belies its pop sensibility.\"
Oh wait. That was me.
THIS was someone else, writing about the band:
\"Comprised of guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ben Fox, bassist Branko Scekic, keyboardist Dave Wickland, drummer Lucas Fredette, and guitarist Josh Byrne, their sound is a collage of influence, combining the swagger and grit of NYC garage with the earnest emotion of Radiohead and The Smiths. Impactful and engaging is a start, but is merely a glimpse into to the extent of what Dinosaur Bones brings to stereo or stage.\"
Sounds sexy, no?
The new record was produced by Jon Drew (Tokyo Police Club) and features eleven tracks (the tracklisting is below, as are some upcoming dates).
