Drawing its repertoire from the Left Hand Path and Clandestine albums, Monkey Puss: Live in London was recorded in 1992 at the London Astoria, relatively early in Entombed's career. Not surprisingly, the material from Clandestine tends to outshine the more standard (but seemingly crowd-pleasing) grind-thrash of many of the Left Hand Path songs. The band was just starting to hit its true stride, so although this doesn't include material from the stellar Wolverine Blues, there's a spark and a vitality to the performances, making it clear that the band has found itself. It's not an essential document, but for fans, it's further proof that Entombed was one of the most powerful metal bands of the '90s.
