Pateando Piedras is a conceptual (and second studio album) album of the Chilean group the Prisoners. It was released on September 15, 1986 on cassette in Chile and 12 inch vinyl in other countries of South America.1 was treated the band's first album to be released by a multinational company. He sold five thousand copies in its pre-sale, and reached the ten thousand units sold in no time. The album was preceded by the hit single, "Move industries," showing the band acquiring influences of European techno bands like Depeche Mode, and abandoning the simple sound of guitar, bass and drums that had characterized their debut album, The Voice 80s in 1984.
Kicking stones gets its title from one of the most emblematic songs of the band, "The Dance of the leftover" theme that has a strong social criticism from its main songwriter, Jorge Gonzalez, who defined it as a "song marginalized youth after leaving formal education ", 2 and has become one of the most important songs in the history of Chilean folk music.
Pateando Piedras meant the band jumping to the massive and defeat the censorship imposed by the government, to veto them on television and in the media controlled by the dictadura.2 The November 1, 1986 the band promoted the album with two recitals board back in the Estadio Chile. The album became famous for his lyrics focused on social issues, danceable sound with electronics and personality of the band, plus huge radio hit songs as "Move industries', 'want money", "Why the rich' or "Why do not you go?".
Pateando Piedras was chosen as the 15th best Chilean album of all time, according to Rolling Stone Chile.1 Thus, share an important place in the musical history of Chile. It was reissued on CD for the first time in 1991, then in 1995 and in 2011 was remastered albums with trash culture, La voz de los '80 and Hearts.
