Nargaroth首张正式全长作品.
Kanwulf claimed earlier that the demo "Herbstleyd" was recorded originally in 1993.
The songs for this album were re-recorded in various places in Frankonia in 1998.
The original CD pressing does not have a barcorde, while later versions do. The frontcover is more silver coloured while later version tend more to a golden tone.
2xLP (double 12" black LP limited to 500 copies) version contains the following bonus live tracks:

10. Karmageddon (Live in Erlangen 1999)
11. Des alten Kriegers Seelenruh' (Live in Erlangen 1999)

Double Picture LP (2005) includes bonus live tracks from 2004 in Innsbruck (Austria). An official cassette version was also released by Old Legend (Poland).
