GUITAR THEORY Using the Melodic Minor Scale教材下載: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=2932809639&uk=2383021194Published on Jun 8, 2012http://www.creativeguitarstudio.com/Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question...Q: I am having a real problem with learning the Melodic Minor Scale. For one thing, I keep seeing it shown as Melodic Minor ascending, and Natural Minor descending. Why is this? And, can Melodic Minor be used on it's own to make songs and melodies, or is it only used for it's modes? I can't find any decent info. covering this stuff. Hope you can help!Sheldon -- IsraelA: The Melodic Minor Scale is generally defined using the Classical music theory approach of showing Melodic Minor ascending and the Natural Minor descending. Keep in mind that it's use classically does not define it's overall use in general. For example; in Jazz theory we apply Melodic Minor as a scale unto itself, both ascending & descending using only the notes found within the Melodic Minor. When we are using melodic minor to create progressions & melodies, this scale can be somewhat difficult to create songs out of. However, I do have some suggestions for you to help with creating progressions & melodies with it. The Melodic Minor's minor 3rd degree mixed with all of it's upper tones being essentially a major scale, can make it a little bit difficult in terms of creating melodies. But, like other musical endeavors, with solid study and practice directed at applying this scale, it can offer up some very cool ideas. But, keep in mind, that won't happen without practice and making a solid attempt at songwriting using this unique Minor form!
