I know the triad & 7th harmonies and my key signatures. Where I'm lost is with melodies and harmonies that just don't fit in. I often find chords that are not in key. And, the same goes for melodies. The theory of this might be beyond me, but can you make a lesson that demonstrates some of this along with some commentary? Thanks!Ranaldo - St. Albans, West Virginia, USAA: It's very common for practicing guitar players, who've learned about the basic major & minor scales, (along with their related harmonies), to become a little bit confused when either scale tones, or chords, show-up in a song and they simply do not relate to the key. In this lesson, I'll cover a collection of common ways that unrelated chords or scale tones might manipulate their way into either melodies, or into the chord progressions of a piece of music. Keep in mind that there can be several theoretical explanations as to why these manipulations occur within a piece. As I explore some of these different scenarios, I will do my best to shed some light on what kinds of unique musical situations are found within the melodic & harmonic examples used within this lesson. I hope you enjoy the lesson!---ANDREW WASSON - Personal Website:http://www.andrewwasson.com(weekly postings - w/FREE Guitar Handouts)Visit our Creative Guitar Studio Zazzle page:http://www.zazzle.com/creativeguitarstudioOFFICIAL Creative Guitar Studio Products Website:http://www.creativeguitarstudio.com/MUSIC: Listen to some of my songs.http://www.andrewwasson.com/audio.php
