又叫扬基曲、扬基小调。早在北美独立战争以前
，在这些殖民地上《洋基歌》的曲调和歌词的某
些段落就已经很流行。甚至在十八世纪七十年代
以前，英军就曾唱《洋基歌》来嘲笑殖民者。歌
词的早期版本是嘲笑这些殖民地居民的勇气以及
他们粗俗的衣着和举止。“洋基”是对新英格兰
土包子的轻蔑之词，而“杜德儿”的意思即蠢货
或傻瓜。然而，在独立战争期间，北美大陆军却
采用《扬基·杜德尔》作为他们自己的歌，以表明
他们对自己朴素，家纺的衣着和毫不矫揉造作的
