You can see the original lesson video at xxxxThe first lesson video presents a model for understanding chord melody on the guitar in which we imagine three different musical "roles": The "singer" is the highest note, and this is our melodic voice so we need to be able to play any note we imagine with this melody note.The "choir" is just below the singer, and the role of the choir is to reinforce the harmony by singing only the four notes of the chord.The "bass player" is the lowest note, and for now we will leave this always on the root of the chord.In this particular video, I lead you through the process of combining the "singer" and the "bass player" in the 5 chord. Learning to combine melody and bass is the first step to developing a complete chord melody technique that enables you to improvise with complete freedom.
